The answer is yes, that is ASUS Lingyao X2 Pro.
In fact, ASUS Lingyao X2 Pro is not the world’s first dual-screen notebook. Some manufacturers have already explored it before. However, in the case of not significantly changing the structure of the notebook, to achieve dual 4K OLED display, and retain the keyboard and touchpad products, currently there is only the Asus Lingyao X2 Pro. So, can this uniquely designed product overturn the experience of traditional notebooks?
- Simple appearance, exquisite design, distinctive
In terms of appearance, the 15.6-inch Lingyao X2 Pro is not much different from ordinary notebooks. The A-side design still continues the simple and exquisite style that Asus has always used. Mirror diamond-cut edges and the visual effect are good.
The Lingyao X2 Pro continues the design of the Lingyao family. The front is the classic ASUS concentric hairline pattern, and the crystal shell of nano-imprint lithography technology can see the refracted light from multiple angles.
The entire fuselage adopts a magnesium alloy frame and an all-metal fuselage. The size of the fuselage is 359 x 246 x 24mm (length x width x height), and the net weight is about 2.5kg.
The main body has no exaggerated wiring, no splicing of various fibers, and even the logo on the A side does not emit light. The only place where the shell can emit light is the row of discolored lights at the screen opening.
The B side adopts a 4-sided narrow frame design, and the screen-to-body ratio reaches almost 90%.
Lingyao X2 Pro uses a 15.6-inch OLED touch screen with a resolution of 3840*2160 and supports 10-point touch. The quality of this screen is quite amazing, with 133% sRGB color gamut, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, 92% NTSC color gamut, static contrast as high as 300,000:1, and brightness 400nit.
Above the screen is a newly designed lens module, customized 4P lens, the photo effect is much stronger than previous products.
There are also 3D IR infrared recognition camera components on both sides of the camera, which supports facial recognition to unlock, and can directly use facial recognition to wake up the notebook through Windows Hello.
The C side is equipped with a second 14-inch 4K screen, the official name is Screen Pad Plus, this screen supports 178° wide viewing angle and also supports multi-touch.
It can be clearly seen that there is a certain difference between the brightness and color of the secondary screen and the main screen. It is an IPS matte screen.
The entire C surface is the characteristic of Lingyao X2 Pro, which is completely different from ordinary notebooks. The upper part is occupied by the OLED touch screen, and the keyboard and touchpad are placed in the lower part. At the same time, ASUS is not simply adding the second screen. They also use ScreenPad Plus technology to achieve rapid interaction between the two screens and rich functions, making it more practical and productive.
Thanks to ScreenPad Plus, you can quickly adjust the size and position of the window, open multiple applications at the same time, or directly switch the content of the two screens. And there is a floating button on the left side of the second screen, which can quickly open the Screen Pad Plus menu to implement quick application startup and adjustment settings.
Not only that, the Screen Pad Plus shortcut menu also provides a task group function, which can save the position and size of the current application window, and then click an existing configuration file to activate the corresponding application and restore the window layout.
For example, when using Adobe Premiere to edit video and Lightroom to process pictures, you can place the work area on the main screen and display the material library on the second screen. 3.Performance measurement, flagship hardware brings excellent experience
ASUS Lingyao X2 Pro is mainly positioned as a creative design PC. As mentioned earlier, it not only has a unique design, but also flagship hardware. The notebook is equipped with an Intel i9-9980HK processor, Nvidia RTX2060 graphics card, 32GB DDR4 2666 memory, 1TB NVMe SSD (PCI-E 3.0 X4), Intel AX200 (support WiFi6) wireless network card, battery capacity is about 71Wh, non-heavy load can achieve 8 hours Battery life left and right. In the next test session, I will test the overall performance of the color coverage, graphics card, storage and various aspects.
- Color gamut coverage
The larger the color gamut of the monitor is much better than before. The larger the color gamut, the more colors the display can display, the richer the colors that pictures and videos can show, the higher the natural reproduction degree, and the more pleasing to the human eye.

In the test, the sRGB color gamut of Lingyao x2 pro is 100% (the official publicity data is 133%, and the current software can only measure 100% at most), and the AdobeRGB color gamut is 94%. In terms of color gamut performance, this is an excellent wide color gamut display, and its color coverage has satisfied the area that the human eye can recognize.
Lingyao x2 pro also has a 92% NTSC color gamut. At present, 72% NTSC displays on the market can provide a very good screen experience. The performance of Lingyao X2 Pro far exceeds that of ordinary displays and is close to high-end professional displays.
- Storage performance test
In terms of storage, I used AIDA64’s built-in Cache & Memoray Benchmark to test the memory and CPU cache speed, and the hard disk used AS SSD Benchmark and CrystalDiskMark to test the maximum continuous read and write and 4K random read and write performance.
This notebook is pre-installed with 32GB DDR4 2666 memory, which is composed of two 16GB memory dual channels. Therefore, in the AIDA64 test, memory reading, writing, and copying have reached more than 30GB/s, and both the capacity and the speed can meet the needs of video post-processing, rendering, 3D modeling and other software.
The 1TB SSD pre-installed in the notebook is an OEM version, numbered MZVLB1T0HALR. Through inquiry, it is found that this is a PM981 from Samsung, equipped with TLC flash memory particles. The maximum continuous read of the hard disk is about 3000MB/s, the continuous write is about 2400MB/s, the maximum 4K random read is about 1100MB/s, and the write is about 1900MB/s. Due to the system disk, the actual running score will be slightly lower. , But it does not affect the user experience. For most scenarios, the performance of SSD has appeared to be a bit excessive.
- Graphics performance and game testing
In terms of graphics performance, we conducted actual measurements through 3DMark and three 3A games. Lingyao X2 Pro is equipped with the “full blood” version of RTX 2060, which is not a low-power Max-Q version, with a base frequency of 960MHz, an acceleration frequency of 1200MHz, and 6G GDDR6 memory, a frequency of 1750MHz, and a bandwidth of up to 336GB/s. What affects performance is the BIOS “tuning” and heat dissipation capability.
From the results of 3DMark, it is not difficult to see that the built-in RTX 2060 in the notebook has played its due performance, not only can deal with 3D game masterpieces, combined with NVIDIA Studio Driver can also meet professional needs, Adobe Lightroom, DaVinci Resolve Studio, Unreal Engine and other professional applications can be accelerated. Not only that, the RTX 20 series also has a ray tracing function. In addition to games, it can also be used for some 3D content creation, which can optimize 3D image rendering and reduce rendering time.
There must be game needs outside of work, so we also tested 3 3A games, “Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey”, “Metro: Escape”, “Tomb Raider: Shadow”, in order to minimize the difference between the scene and the test results For the impact, the benchmark program built into the game was used in the test.
It can be seen from the results that Lingyao X2 Pro can handle large-scale 3D games at 1080P, and can reach 30~60FPS with the highest or high special effects. As for the 4K resolution, if you want to achieve higher fluency, reaching 60FPS, you must reduce the special effects. Of course, if you switch to e-sports and online games with slightly lower configuration requirements, then the performance of this notebook is more than enough.
- Comprehensive performance test
At the same time, we still used PCMark 10 to conduct a comprehensive performance test on the notebook. Taking into account the hardware configuration of the whole machine, we directly adopted a more comprehensive PCMark 10 Extended test project. The Lingyao X2 Pro is in terms of productivity, content creation, and game experience. Both achieved good results. Moreover, the overall score of 6279 for this product has surpassed the category of most notebooks, and it is close to 4K gaming desktop PCs, which is enough to meet the daily content creation work when going out.
- Notebook stress test
Finally, I also conducted a baking machine test on the Lingyao X2 Pro. Each item lasted about 10-20 minutes, and the room temperature was about 23°C. It should be noted that the baking machine test is different from the actual application, which will cause more extreme pressure loads. There are rarely similar situations in daily life, which can reflect the extreme heat dissipation performance of this notebook to a certain extent.
First, the full load test was performed on the CPU alone through the stress test software that comes with AIDA64 (check the CPU, FPU), which lasted about 20 minutes. As you can see from the screenshot below, the CPU frequency can still be turbo frequency to about 2.8GHz, which has not been completely reduced to the base frequency. Considering the processor’s 8-core 16-thread specifications and the relatively thin and light body structure, this result is still relatively Not bad, even if the CPU is fully loaded for a long time, it has good performance.
Secondly, the full load test of the graphics card was performed separately through FurMark software. Similar to the CPU result, after 20 minutes, it still has an acceleration frequency of about 1000MHz, which is slightly higher than the base frequency. The core temperature measured by the software is about 73°C, which can ensure a relatively good performance.
In general, the Lingyao X2 Pro is the first step for ASUS to move towards a dual-screen design. It is undeniable that this is a very bold attempt, and it also allows us to initially realize the role of two screens on a laptop.
